Super Bowl Weekend

This weekend I took full advantage of the Super Bowl. As everyone else in Seattle was getting ready for (and watching) the game, I was shooting cityscapes. The weekend started on Friday, when I met up with a good friend of mine, Jason (photosbyjasonwoo.com) and took some shots from his roof.

The real fun began on Sunday, when I drove around looking for interesting vistas. Somehow I ended up right back on Cap Hill, and had to shoot the outside of the Comet, a local dive bar.

After that, I headed north. Ended up across Lake Union, and took some shots of Downtown from that area. I played with some timelapses, but I wasn’t happy with what I was getting, and I had to run. Definitely going back there though.

My night concluded in Queen Anne, where I sat waiting for the verdict of the game. I knew that last year the Space Needle shot off fireworks once the Seahawks won, and I was hoping to get a similar shot. But as I continued to refresh the score on my phone, it looked like it wasn’t going to happen this year. So I decided to just start shooting some cityscapes instead.

But then… Fireworks! Seems like Seattle decided to shoot them off, regardless of whether or not the Seahawks won. Strange, but I wasn’t complaining!
